Quality Guarantee and Limits of Liability

  • Customer is responsible for complying with all game laws.
  • A minimum deposit amount of 50% is due when animal is received.
  • 10% fee added for rotting or smelly carcasses. Spoiled carcasses are prone to hair slippage and other problems beyond the taxidermist’s ability to control or fix.
  • Although every attempt will be made to protect your trophy while in the possession of the taxidermist, the taxidermist cannot be responsible for freak accidents, acts of nature or God, including but not exclusive to flood, fire, severe weather, theft, freak accidents, tannery damage or loss, etc. In the unlikely event that your mount becomes lost or destroyed, a full refund of your deposit will be made.
  • Most mounts are completed within 6-8 months. Your mount is guaranteed completed before 12 months.
  • Feel free to call anytime to request updates and/or photos of your mount-in-progress. I believe in honesty and full disclosure.
  • Hair slippage is the direct result of bacterial breakdown and improper field care that occurs BEFORE the taxidermist takes possession of your hide. Very little can be done to repair the effects of severe hair slippage. Therefore, hair retention CANNOT be guaranteed.
  • Your finished mount is guaranteed free of manufacturer defects for one year. This does not cover abuse or neglect by owner. Once your mount leaves the taxidermy shop, it is your responsibility to maintain and care for it properly.
  • Orders or mounts not paid within 30 days of completion will be considered abandoned and will be sold to recoup tanning and material costs.

What is your "Quality Guarantee?"

How is Nate's Taxidermy different most other taxidermists?

Quality taxidermy starts with quality materials. I only use the best tanneries, manikin forms, glues, and tools available to ensure your mount is looks good and lasts for generations.

Many taxidermists cut corners on hide paste. Hide paste the glue that holds your mount together, but did you know that cheap, dextrin-based hide paste is actually made from corn starch, a food-based product? Not only can dextrin break down over time, but it attracts bugs that can ruin your mount.

What if I can't reach you when I have a raw game head or hide?

FREEZE it ASAP. Wrap your folded head and/or hide in towels or a game bag (not plastic) so it can breath, then put in a freezer. After it's frozen, put the hide in a plastic bag so it doesn't freezer-burn over time. Remember, bacteria and heat can quickly ruin a fresh hide.
